MIRAVETE
This is not a very common Spanish last name. Every year five or six individuals contact me inquiring about its origin.
I gathered some information in the Spanish National Library. It appears that my last name comes from a small county in the north part of the Spanish province of Huesca, close to the French border.
My ancestors come from La Unión, in the southeast Spanish region of Murcia. Most of my direct family lives in Valencia although I know of other members in Barcelona, Elche, and Melilla.
I have been contacted by people in the south of France, México, and in the United States, mostly of Mexican descent.
