TARIFF DATA FROM THE EARLY U.S. CELLULAR TELEPHONE INDUSTRY (1984-1988 & 1992)
Information: The U.S. cellular industry began offering service in the fall of 1984. Until mid 1988, in the largest 100 markets, only one cellular carrier offered service until litigation settled who the rightful owner of the second operating license was. The data documented here corresponds to this period and includes all tariffs offered by both carriers operating in these large markets.
